No the sword belongs to Wano Kuni, the sword was with the corpse of Wano Kuni's hero (Ryuma) which Moria stole. It was Brook's shadow that gave the sword to Zoro. Zoro probably did the right thing, by giving the sword back since it is important to Wano, but also his own development since the sword was already blackened by someone else, it might mean something but I dunno, might be linked to why Hawk eye's sword is black too, maybe the sword develops with the user's Haki too
